PUBLIC TRANSPORT

You don’t have to put up with anti-social behaviour. Travelling on public transport is no exception.

Manchester City Council, GMPTE and Great Manchester Police are working hard to ensure that people travelling to, from and around Manchester have a safe and secure journey.

As a partnership there is a great deal of activity taking place to combat ASB and crime on around public transport. For example you may see Bus Revenue Inspectors and Police Officers boarding your bus and requesting tickets or you may be asked to walk through a gateway set up BTP when leaving your train. Rest assured these activities are designed to create a safer transport network and not to make your life more difficult!

We appreciate that you may witness incidents of ASB or crime on your commute to and from work and that you may not have the time or inclination when you reach your destination to report these incidents. However the more we know the more we can target resources where they are needed most.
